“Bossam: Steal the Fate” is a Korean television drama series that aired in 2021. Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the show revolves around the practice of bossam, a traditional Korean custom where a widowed woman is kidnapped and married off to a widower to provide her with a new family and protect her from societal stigma.
It depicts a cruel hidden story within the royal court. Royal concubine Gwi-in Jo (Kim Hyun-joo) wants to make her son the king. In order to accomplish her goal, she holds the hand of Kim Ja-jeom and uses King Injo. She also attempts to get rid of Crown Prince Sohyeon.
The series tells the story of two half-brothers from separate mothers who share the same father and experienced different upbringings due to their respective mothers' different social statuses.
